Written for all of us who’ve chosen the career of psychotherapist, this handbook offers both an invitation and a structure for exploring basic questions that influence the daily fabric of your life and your practice:
Who is
practicing your practice?
We consist of many “whos,” many subpersonalities or selves. Just as our external Family of Origin greatly impacts who we are and how we experience ourselves – so does our Inner Family. Many psychotherapists who have done a great deal of Family of Origin work can still be subtly controlled by their internal family. While your physical judgmental mother or father may no longer be a source of stress, your Inner Critical Parent may show up in certain sessions or other areas of your practice.
Who’s Practicing Your Practice? helps you discover your “whos”(selves) and guides you in deciphering the systemic code that fuels these selves. As a result:

Dorsey Cartwright, LPC, LMFT, CCMHC is president-elect of the Austin chapter of
TAMFT.
She has been training therapists in Voice Dialogue, the Psychology of
Selves
and the Aware Ego since 1989. She has led trainings on these topics at
TAMFT,
TPA, TCA, Psychotherapy Networker Symposium, Israeli Marriage and
Family
Conference, and Imago Relationship conferences in Atlanta, Detroit and
Chicago.
She and her partner, Neil Meili, developed and presented “Voice
Dialogue in the
Land of the Archetypes” on Mykonos, Greece. Author of the
Voice Dialogue Teacher’s Training Manual, she is a senior
staff person
for Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone, who created Voice Dialogue.
